Anglers fishing the Inlet rip rap are still continuing to catch Rockfish, although the weather has reduced the number of anglers venturing out recently. There have been a few anglers fishing for Tog in the inlet from boats, but no reports of what they’ve caught since the end of last week. More anglers have been connecting with Rockfish just off the beach in boats, but the weather the past weekend made it difficult to get out.
Captain John on the charter boat “Karen Sue” reported that his trips were blown out over the past weekend. Hopefully with the seas calmer now we’ll hear of how they are doing out on the reefs and wrecks.
A reminder that the new Tautog regulations went into effect over the last weekend and the creel limit for Tog has been reduced to 5 per angler at 16″ in length.
This weekend (February 17th -19th) is the Ocean City Boat Show and should help get rid of the cabin fever many of us have been developing. The show not only has a large amount of boats to look over and dream about buying, but there are a large number of vendors selling fishing gear and other fishing articles. The Indian River Marina will be there to answer any questions about the marina and show what Indian River Marina has to offer. Along with the marina personnel, there will be several of our Charter Captains there to answer fishing questions and to set up booking dates if you wish. We are located right next to the food court on the main floor lobby, so stop by and say hello.
