Since the last report it appears that a new Record Striped Bass (Rockfish) was caught at Delaware Seashore State Park. The fish is reported to have been 51″ and weighed 52 lbs. That is one huge Rockfish and gets one anxious to get out there and wet a line.
Inshore the boats continue to find Rockfish in towards shore on the troll (remember the limit is 3 miles off the beach when fishing for Rockfish). Anglers fishing structure are catching Tautog (Tog), but rough seas made it harder to fish the structure and harder to get limits.
In the Inlet anglers fishing from boats are catching Rockfish as are anglers fishing from the rip rap. Tog anglers are still fishing the rip rap for the tasty fish.
Update as of 12/12/12 – Anglers are having success with catching nice Rockfish in the Bubble Gum beach area also.
So now is the time to head down to the inlet and wet a line for some great late fall/ early winter fishing. There are still a few Charter Boats in the water and available for fishing, just click the link below for information. Good Luck and Tight Lines.
