Fishing Report 8-4-17

The White Marlin Open is coming up and the fishing is hot.  Good luck to all of the Indian River Marina slipholders and transient boaters that are fishing the tournament.  We are completely full here at the marina for the week, but stop on in for all of your bait and tackle needs or swing by Hammerheads Dockside for some grub and cocktails.

Check out some of these pics and reports we received this week:

Billy and Missi Santanna of Hershey, PA caught this keeper black sea bass, and flounder while on the afternoon trip on the Judy V. They were fishing with Capt. Chris Adams and out at the Old Grounds.

Capt. Eddie Kehl of Bill Collector took his son Grady and friend Jeff Strayer of Llodysville, PA out to Massey’s Canyon and caught these impressive fish. Grady brought in a 67.5lb yellow fin and Jeff caught this 15.5lb mahi. There were also 5 other yellow fins caught all weighing 45lbs and up.

Tomas Castayna, Bob Werner, Steve Martin and Ryan O’Hara fished with Capt. Dave Collins and George Merrick on the Capt. Ike II out at the Jackspot. They caught 12 yellowfin tuna and 1 mahi while chunking. All the fish average 45-50lbs.

Capt. Joe Noble, of the Miss Donna, took Jason and Brooke Tolson out fishing to the Del-Jersey site on their very first trip offshore. They had a great day with some keeper sea bass, trigger fish and a mahi.  They were using artificial baits while jigging.
