The weather and fishing is still cooperating with us here at the Indian River Marina.
We have many boats fishing Inshore with great catches of Flounder!! Flounder!! Founder!! Its been the best year for Flounder fishing in decades. Plenty of croaker and scattered Rockfish in and around the Inlet and Back Bay areas.
Offshore reports of incredible White Marlin Fishing many boats hitting the docks with over 15 releases each. Down in the Washington reports of Bonita, Yellowfins, sharks, Mahi Mahi and a few scatttered Big Eye Tunas.

Hammerheads Dockside will be closing at 3PM today for a private wedding but will reopen Sunday at 8AM.

The weather has been tough this past week but that still has not stopped the fishing here at the Indian River Marina.
The Flounder fishing is continuing late into the season with monster Flounder being landed at all the inshore wrecks. Spotted Flounder are in the inlet as well. In the inlet also are Croaker, Sea Bass and Rockfish. The Indian River Marina offers Headboats and private charters for a fun day of Inshore Fishing.
It was tough getting out this week Offshore, but the boats that did make it out reported Yellowfin Tuna on evening bites, White Marlin, Makos and plenty of Mahi Mahi under the weed lines and balls.
All of the fish will be making their way South soon so there is plenty of time to get yourself hooke up on a charter!! Give us a call at 302-227-3071

Ken Monson of Bridgeville, DE caught this 9.2lb and 29 inch flounder while fishing out at Site 10 using a jig with cut bait. Ken also caught an 8.2lber as well as a 6.8lber that day.
Tom and Rose Ann Stuhler of Greenwood, DE, caught these nice keeper flounder while out a B-Buoy using several different baits of Gulp, squid and shiners. The largest weighed in at 6.1lbs.
Nicole Hendricks of New Castle, DE caught this 7.2lb flounder while out at Site 10 using a 6″ chartreuse Gulp bait.
The flounder limits just keep coming in with the Team from Miss Aligned. Barry Simpson, Dick Leisses, Nick Nicastri, Jane Leisses and Donna Simpson. they fished out at Site 10 and used Spro bucktails with cut bait and minnows.

Flounder is still the name of the game both inshore and at Indina River Inlet over the past two weeks.
Randal Groff of Reading, PA caught this 7.2lb and 26 1/4 inch flounder while fishing out at Site 10 using Gulp baits and a minnow.
Frank Hunter of Ocean View, DE, caught this 8.6lb and 28 inch long flounder using nuclear chicken 6″ Gulp bait with squid out at Site 10.
Capt. Roger Meekins and mate Mike Lewis of the Capt. Bob II out of Indian River Marina had a limit of flounder on the full day trip on Saturday. Hans, Mike, Elsa and Joe Schumacher of Finksburg, MD, Wendy and Greg Douts of Lancaster, PA and Joe Csoky of Lancaster, PA, Lou Csoky Jr. of Frankford, DE and Lou Csoky, Sr. of Lancaster, PA.
While the majority of big flounder have been caught out in the ocean, John Davis of Milford, DE and Allan Fenton of Philadelphia, PA speared this 9.4lb flounder along the Coast Guard wall.
Mark Cranston of Sand Gates, MD caught this 5.3lb flounder using cut bait out at Site 10 on the head boat Judy V. with Capt. Ed Wheedleton.

Here are a few more pictures from the last week to get everyone through this rainy day. On the bright side we will have some great fishing days ahead.
Jeff Oneschuk of New Castle, DE looks on in disbelief as Ed Wirth of Newark, DE holds his 4.2lb and 23 1/2 inch flounder that he caught on Gulp and minnows at the Old Grounds
Eric Rust of Felton, DE and Rick Cornell of Milton, DE fished Site 10 using bucktails with cut bait and landed these two nice doormats. Eric’s fish weighed 8.4lbs while Rick’s fished weighed in at 7.2lbs.
Harris, Ray and Sam Lukashok of New Rochelle, NY caught these four nice flounder, the largest weighing in at 4.8lbs and 24 inches, while on the head boat Judy V. with Capt. Ed Wheedleton. Capt. Ed said that they were fishing Site 10 using squid and cut bait.

Here are a few more pictures from the past week at Indian River Marina. We still have a lot of great fishing ahead of us so get in on the action by booking a charter at 302-227-3071.
Frank and Frankie Usavage, North Ocean City, MD went with Capt. Dave Collins of the Capt. Ike II on Frankie’s 9th birthday for an offshore trip to the Poor Man’s. They trolled ballyhoo’s and hooked up with Frankie’s first White Marlin release that was about 65lbs. They also brought back to the dock these 5 mahi.
Caleb and Doug Hutchinson of Lancaster, PA caught four keeper flounder and one blue fish while fishing at Site 10, the largest weighed in at 3.9lbs.
Dave Janney of Newark, DE Lisa VanHorn of Boothwyn, PA, Caroline Janney of Newark, DE, Sane, Laura and Paul VanHorn or Boothwyn, PA fished out at B-Buoy and brought back this nice catch of flounder. Two weighed 4.8lbs, one weighed 4.5lbs and one weighed 2.8lbs. They were caught on minnow, squid and live spot.
Laura VanHorn of Boothwyn, PA, fished on “Sweet Caroline” and caught her very first black sea bass while out at B-Buoy using squid.

It is still all about the flounder at the IRM docks.
Beth Maag of Middletown, NJ, John Thaxton of Pittsburgh, PA and Greg Disbrow of Arlington, VA fished on the head boat Judy V. with Capt. Ed Wheedleton and took home some nice dinner fillets. The largest one was caught by Greg and weighed in at 4.1lbs. All were caught at B-Buoy using squid.
Carol Timmons of Millsboro, DE caught this 3.6lb flounder fishing out at A-Buoy using live minnows.
Shana Anderson of Darnstown, MD, caught this keeper flounder while on the afternoon head boat, Judy V. with Capt. Ed Wheedleton. They were fishing out at B-Buoy using minnows.
Bob Gentry and Jeff Althouse of Trainer, PA, caught these keeper flounder while fishing on the head boat Judy V. with Capt. Ed Wheedleton. All the fish were caught at B-Buoy using minnows and the largest, caught by Jeff, weighed in at 4.2lbs.
Greg Hern of Hogansburg, NY caught his limit of flounder while fishing on the Judy V. with Capt. Ed Wheedleton out at B-Buoy using squid.
While fishing out at Site 10 with squid and minnows Michael Smith of Middletown, DE not only caught his limit of flounder but landed a citation flounder that weighed 7.8lb and measured 27 inches.

It may be past Labor Day, but there is still a lot of action here at Indian River Marina. Hammerheads Dockside has a great crowd this afternoon and the docks are busy.
Offshore dozens of Big Eyes and yellow Fin have been landed in the Wilmington Canyon. Lots of mahi have also been caught in the weed lines.
Closer to the docks we have been seeing lots and lots of flounder.
John Bridgen of Elizabethtown, PA caught these 4lb flounders while fishing with Capt. Eddie Wheedleton of the head boat Judy V. out of Indian River Marina using cut bait. They were drifting out at B-Buoy.
These 5.9lb and 5.7lb were big, but not big enough to win the pool on the morning trip of the Judy V. out of Indian River Marina. Arthur Sirdofsky of Teaneck, NJ caught these using cut bait out at B-Buoy with Capt. Eddie Wheedleton.
Bill Siner, Ed Burkhardt and Eric Burnely of Milton, DE caught these flounder while out at the Old Grounds using squid and minnows. The biggest weighed in at 4.6lbs.
Andy Jett of Strausburg, VA, caught this 5.4lb and 24 1/2 inch flounder along with 2 others using squid and clam while fishing on the head boat Judy V. with Capt. Eddie Wheedleton fishing around B-Buoy.
B-Buoy was the hot spot for the Judy V. when Nathan and Micah Kauffman, John Hartley, Williard, Joshua and Christina Kauffman, all from Harrington, DE had a great day of fishing with Capt.Ed Wheedleton.
Dave Meseck of Vernon, NJ caught these 4lb and 3.3lb flounder while out with Capt. Ed Wheedleton on the Judy V. at B-Buoy using cut bait and clam.
Jan Klink of Lebanon, PA caught a 3lb flounder and a 2.5lb flounder while fishing on the head boat Judy V. with Capt. Ed Wheedleton at B-Buoy using squid.
