It’s hard to be positive in the face of next week’s freeze, but spring is only 19 days away!
Captains are still landing heavy tog, up to over 10 lbs. Patience is the key here. Cold fish = slow bite.
Those lucky enough to be in North Carolina right now are enjoying thick yellow-fin, blue-fin, and black sea bass. Be ready – those fish are headed our way as soon as the water warms up! To prep for the upcoming season, you might want to take advantage of the low tides we’ve been having to check out sandbar locations.
If you haven’t already, make sure you get the Kids Catch All Tournament on your calendar for June 21-23. Revenue generated from this event goes to the Lyme Disease Association of Delmarva (LDAD). If you’re interested in registering your child, sponsoring our event, or have any other questions about the tournament, give us a call at 302-227-3071 and check out the website at kidscatchall.com .
Thanks for reading, and get ready for tight lines and good times!

Well folks, we are one wet, windy week closer to the beginning of warm weather!
THANK YOU to everyone who visited us and our Charter Captains at the OC Boat Show. It was an awesome turnout with thousands of people over the three days.
Captains are still reporting heavy tog, slowly getting their limits if they bounce around enough. The water temperature is up a little bit, now around 43 degrees, so hopefully it continues that trend.
We are busy getting our Kids Catch All Tournament ready for June 21-23, so make sure you’ve got it on your calendar!
Until next week, tight lines and good times!

Hope everyone enjoyed Valentine’s Day either with someone that they love or doing something that they love! It was another week of up-and-down weather with temperatures ranging from kind-of-cold to very-cold.
Inshore fishing remains fairly stable with heavy tog hitting the decks of patient anglers. With the water temperature hovering around 40, tog are slow and light to bite, but certainly well worth it!
Rumor has it that the northern DE region has your choice of blackfish and ling once you hit ~160ft depth of water. Even further north and further offshore they are reporting jumbo porgies, more ling, and lots of cod.
The time has finally come folks – today is the first day of the Ocean City Boat Show! We are manning the booth all day today, tomorrow, and Sunday, so stop by and ask us all of your burning questions, or just say hi!
Until next time – tight lines and good times!

Hope everyone had a chance to get out in the couple nice days that we had!
The boats that fishing the inshore waters are still pulling up large tog from Lewes on down to OC with plenty of room to spare for other boats to join.
If you make it down Virginia way, reports are showing black sea bass are ripping and roaring, with anglers catching limits of consistently 4-5 lb fish. Some bluefish have been reported as well, but don’t get your hopes up!
NEXT WEEK is the Annual Ocean City Boat Show, so be sure to come down and see us any time on February 15 – 17.
Until next week, tight lines and good times!

As you might imagine, the severe winter weather has slowed down all maritime activities for most people in the Mid-Atlantic region. We’ve seen ice in the basin at least twice since the beginning of the month.
That being said, those few brave anglers who bundled up and sailed out of Lewes, Ocean City, and the Inlet pulled up some >10lb tog. Not many people are out, so there are plenty of spots to post up.
We have a couple nice days in the forecast, and we still have charters running so give us a call at 302-227-3071 if you want to get into hardy winter fishing!
DON’T FORGET to come see us at the Ocean City Boat Show from February 15-17 in our usual spot!
As always, tight lines and good times.

Happy Holidays to those of you that celebrated this week or this month!
Reports say that good-sized sea bass are hitting the decks in the Washington Canyon. There’s also reports of plenty of tog at Site 11.
Don’t forget to put the 5th Annual Kids Catch-All Tournament on your new 2019 calendar on June 21-23! This tournament is held right here at IRM, has 12 total divisions, and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Lyme Disease Association of Delmarva!

Alright folks, it’s officially cold outside! IRM is completely winterized and the slips are emptying as vessels move to their winter homes. The boat ramp lot was full yesterday with people out taking advantage of the low winds.
Reports say that keeper rockfish are thick just north of the Indian River Inlet. After a week of shorts, this brought relief to many of our dedicated fishermen.
Wishing everyone cozy nights, happy holidays, and of course, tight lines and good times!

It has been a beautiful couple of weeks down here at the Indian River Inlet! The sun is shining, the cool breeze is blowing, and it’s really beginning to feel like fall. The tourist crowds have cleared, so there’s plenty of fish for the locals to nab!
Inshore fishing has been steady. Reports coming in with lots of blue fish and flounder on the lines. Our onsite bait & tackle shop, Hook ’em & Cook ’em, has had people coming in with scattered triggerfish, a few Spanish mackerel, and tog.
Offshore fishing reports have been awesome. Reports of people hitting their limit (or getting close) of mahi every day for the past couple weeks. There have also been reports of good white marlin fishing, some people even saying they’ve caught more in the past couple weeks than they did all summer combined. There’s also been some scattered blackfin and some yellowfin here and there.
Well, folks, the weather is gorgeous, but it won’t last much longer. Make sure to get out there while the crowds are low and the fishing is still hot! Call Carolyn at 302-227-3071 so we can hook you up with a charter trip!
Until next time, tight lines and good times!
