Wow what a big temp change we are in for this weekend. Get your Hoodies out and if you don’t have one stop in the Ship’s Store and pick one out to keedp you warm. Fishing is great Offshore with plenty of Big Eyes, Yellowfin and Longfin Tunas being caught in the Wilmington and Washington Canyon’s. There have even been good numbers of White Marlins being released. The Flounder bite seems to be hot with many anglers landing some nice fish.
CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PARTY SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21ST 4-7 WITH LIVE ENTERTAINMENT WITH THE KENNY JONES BAND!!! Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Sodas provided and bring your favorite dish to share. The third Annual Horseshoe contest will also be held and sack races for the kids.
Captain Charlie Horning, Trent McMahon, Bob Werner and George Merrick hit the docks from an overnighter landing a 174lb and 157lb Big Eyes and a 120.5lb Yellowfin. Nice catch guys!!!!
Bob Sanderson of Dover, DE caught this 7.5lb Flounder.
Greg Hutton and Steve Schad landed this 241lb Big Eye Tuna and 6 Yellowfins while fishing with Charlie Horning.

Things are picking up a bit at the Indian River Marina. There is still plenty of time get some more fishing in.
Tim Brown and Heather Harding of Dover, DE, caught 2 flounder both weighing 4lbs using live spot while in the Indian River Inlet.
Tyler Tribbitt and Ryan Warner of Ocean View, DE caught flounder while fishing in the Indian River Inlet using live spot on “On the Rocks”
Jack Conway, Sr. of New York City, NY, George Merrick of Dagsboro, DE, Josh Gessler of Media, PA, Jack Conway, Jr. of New York City, NY, Jacob Webb of Lewes, DE and Tommy Gessler of Media, PA caught 2 big eye tuna that weighed in at 236lbs and estimated 185lbs (japped to fit in cooler) and 9 yellow fin tuna in the Washington Canyon before dark. They then went to the Poor Man’s and had one long fin tuna and 4 marlin releases.

The weather has kept most of our boats tight to the Docks today. Offshore fishing has been hit or miss this past week, in the Washington there have been Yellowfin, the Wilmington producing a mix bag of Wahoo and White Marlin and reports of Longfin Tuna and Marlin in the Baltimore yesterday. Inshore fishing has been good with reports of Croaker,Flounder, Black and Red Drum and Rockfish. We have a couple catches from this past week.
Jason Pfeiffer, Rudolf Birnbach, Russel Carrico, Richard Hubbard and Randy Sparkman landed a 79.7lb and 40lb Wahoo and released 2 White Marlin.
Mike Wolynetz caught a 1.4lb pompano while fishing at Bubble Gum Beach he also landed 8 Black Drum and 2 Red Drum. Nice catch!!

Anglers are continually hitting the docks of Indian River Marina with great catches as summer continues. We still have a lot of great fishing ahead so make sure to book a charter with our exceptional Delaware fishing fleet by calling 302-227-3071.
Captain Aaron Hurd and crew aboard “Gale Force” caught 12.2 lb and 10.2 lb rock fish with live spot in the Indian River Inlet.
Nathan Donahue of Clayton, DE caught his first keeper flounder while fishing with his grandfather, Burt Campbell at the Indian River Coast Guard Station wall using live shiners. The flounder weighed 2.2 lbs and measured 18″. Great catch Nathan!
Live spot was used near A-Buoy by Al Restaneo of Wilmington, DE to land a 6.4 lb, 26″ flounder while his friend caught six other flounder measuring 20-23 inches.
Burt Campbell of Dagsboro, DE caught a 6.6 lb, 26″ flounder with live spot at the Indian River Coast Guard Station wall.

Summer is winding down but the fishing is still great both Inshore and Offshore.. Here are some reports from the last few days of fishing.
Michael and Zach Culham of Maryland landed a 66lb Wahoo while fishing at the Saugages aboard the Extravaganza with Captain David Hillman.
Nick Markey, Jack Forrest, Jay Freas, George White and Capt. Paul Forrest landed a nice 160lb Big Eye Tuna and another 200lbs of Yellowfins while fishing the Washington Canyon.
Captain Gary Martosella aboard the Michael D one of our Charter Boats and crew hit the docks with a limit of Yellowfin Tuna, 1 Mahi and a White Marlin Release.
Captain Gary did it again on another overnighter aboard the Michael D with his crew landing their limit of Yellowfin Tuna. Nice catch guys!!!!!

Anglers continue to hit the docks of Indian River Marina with great catches. Summer is starting to wind down, but the fishing action continues.
Lu Ann Harding of Smyrna, DE caught a 30″ rock fish in the Indian River Inlet using live spot.
Matt Hunsberger of Pittsburgh, PA caught a 5 lb black drum while his uncle Frank White of Ocean View, DE, caught a 4.7lb black drum. Both were fishing with sand fleas at “Bubble Gum Beach”.
Justin and Mike gorman and Dave Sterling of Leesburg, VA, caught a 44.9 lb wahoo when they were fishing out to the Elephant’s Trunk trolling ballyhoo and anIilander blue and white lure.
Captain JoJo Joachimowski of the “Knot Again” had a trip offshore to the Poor Man’s Canyon and hooked up with a mixed bag. Paul and Joe Cirillo , Dave McKelvey, and Darryl Scuse of Smyrna, DE brought back a 15lb mahi, a 47lb wahoo, a 45lb tuna, a 55.4lb wahoo, and also a white marlin release.

A 6.7lb and 26″ flounder was caught by Randy Negley of Chambersburg, PA, on squid at the Old Grounds.
Rob Martelo of Philadelphia, PA, caught a 5.9lb flounder while fishing out at site 11 on Horizon. He was using squid and minnows on a top and bottom rig.

The White Marlin Open is in full swing and some great fish are hitting the docks. The temperatures have been a little cooler, but the fish keep coming in at the Indian River Marina.
Andy Coates of New Castle, DE, caught two tautog while fishing out at about 3 miles out of the Indian River Inlet. They weighed in at 9.7lbs and 7.5lbs and were caught on clam.
Paul and Vickie Cronshaw of Bethany Beach, DE, caught a 136lb big eye tuna when fishing in 200 fathoms at the Washington Canyon. They were trolling with mylar sea witches rigged with ballyhoo.

We have finished out another great week of fishing here at the Indian River Marina. It is now time for the 40th annual White Marlin Open and we wish all anglers the best. Our fuel dock will operate with extended hours all days of the tournament and close at 9pm.
Camden D’Imperio caught a 10.6lb and 29 inch rock fish when he was fishing in the Indian River Inlet by the Coast Guard Station using live spot. This was Camden’s first striper that he had ever caught.
Klye Lynn, Bill, Sherri and Eric Anderson, JC and Barb Nuss, Ria Zimmerman, Kelly Coles, Jared Tillman, Edward Hughs, Jack Klunk and Maddie Breedlove caught sea bass and flounder while fishing on the Capt. Bob II’s full day trip with Capt. Roger Meekins. They were fishing out at B-Buoy and were using shiners, squid and cut bait to catch these fish. The largest of the flounder weighed in at 4.8lbs and measured 23 inches in length.
Justin Fox, of Baltimore, MD, caught a 5.8lb and 24.5 inch flounder while fishing on the Capt. Bob II with Capt. Roger Meekins. Capt. Roger said they were fishing out at B-Buoy using cut bait and shiners.

The fishing continues to be hot at Indian River Marina.
Matt Hunsberger of Pittsburgh, PA, caught a 3.2lb and 21 inch red drum fishing with sand fleas by the Coast Guard station at Indian River.
Capt. Bert Adams, owner of Hook ’em & Cook ’em caught these two keeper flounder while fishing in front of the Coast Guard station using a Gulp 5″ pearl white swimming mullet on a white jig head.
Billy and Lou Ann Harding of Smyrna, DE caught a 6.1lb 25 inch flounder using live spot while fishing out in front of Bubble Gum Beach at Indian River Inlet.
