Fishing Report 8-11-17

Flounder Flounder Flounder!!!!!  That’s the hot fish right now.  Site 11 was the hot spot yesterday.  The marina parking lots are filling up with trailers almost every day.   Lots of folks out there landing some nice flounder.  With the World’s largest flounder tournament coming up next weekend, everyone is out there finding their lucky spot.

As for the White Marlin Open, Indian River Marina has several boats on the leader board.  Good luck to all of the vessels fishing today…the last day to fish in the tournament.  We hope everyone has a great day and safe travel back to port.

Here are some reports of recent flounder landings:

Jimmy Dove from Lincoln, DE, caught these 2 keeper flounder while fishing on the north side of the Indian River Inlet. He was using Gulp 6″ pink shine grub bait on a jig head when he hooked up with a 3lb and 20 inch and a 3.2lb 21 inch fish.

Kieth Hoye and Mike Criscitieo both from Bethany Beach, DE caught these keeper flounder while fishing on the Judy V. with Capt. Eddie Wheedleton. They were fishing the Old Grounds using Gulp and squid on jigs.

Taylor and Don Maguire of Great Falls, VA fished on the Judy V. out of Indian River Marina and were lucky enough to bring back some dinner.  Taylor caught a 17.5 inch flounder while dad caught a nice 4.9lb flounder.

Caleb Hufnell and Tim Walls of Newark, DE caught these keeper flounder while fishing on the Capt. Bob II with Capt. Roger Meekins. They were using minnows out at the Old Grounds.
